HomeMy WebLinkAboutBush_111_TREE-2019-00086I do not like to kill anything that is living. This tree was planted in 1938 and the boy who planted it (now in his 90's) came to talk to me about ten years ago. C,e4&A There are problems and safety issues with this 44tpgos tree. L,L oA u's , i LAJ V it must be 50 feet tall and divided at the base. There, is a deep hole between the two trunks at the base that collects water and thus likely rot. The two trunks are not straight and there is a concern that one or the other may fal I sometime in the future as the base weakens. The water meter is right next to the tree and the pipe on the city side is leaking. Steve Walker from the water department has been out several times over the last year. He states that it is his belief that the roots of the tree are impinging on or wrapping on the pipes and causing the leak. He was most recently out yesterday. He states that if the tree remains that it is likely that the meter will have to be moved to another location which will be costly for the city and for me as well. As much as I do not like to take down a tree l believe this one is causing problems with pipes and also a safety issue should it fall and hurt someone or cause property damage. I am asking the city for permission to remove this tree. November 7, 2019 To Whom It May Concern The incense cedar tree in front of Judy Eman, uel's house should be removed because there is a large hole beneath where the two trunks emerge that collects water and rot. The tree is very tall and the trunks diverge from each other and are at risk of falling and causing damage or injury. It is also right next to the water meter. The roots can cause a problem for water lines.
