Code Compliance Presentation

Lisa Evans, the CityCode Compliance Officer, gave a presentation on vacation rentals in
town. She also touched on the following topics.
Property zoning.
Requirements and the process to ensure legality.
Citation process.
General Q & A.
The Workgroup will come together and craft a motion to present to the City Council regarding
a vacation rental cap.

Review Airbnb regulations (AMC 18.2.3). Can these be changed? How does it work?
How do complaints happen, how is compliance gained.
Explore incentives for middle income investors and developers.
Encourage the development of a diversity of housing types.
Explore opportunities for alternative/innovative housing types, with permaculture.
More ADA housing development/accessible housing development.

Councilor Dylan Bloom He was hoping
that more Community members had shown up, but everything else was great. It was
an opportunity for us to communicate with our locals about the exciting on-goings in
town.
B.General Announcements
Echo Fields would like to remind the Committee about the Homeless Summit on
Saturday, February 3 at the Ashland Hills Inn.

RE: Social Service Grant Presentations and Committee Evaluation and
Recommendations
The City advertised the availability of a total of $134,000 for Social Services
funding for the fiscal year 2024-25. The City is making available67k per
year, or $134,000 across two fiscal years (FY 24 and FY25).
Social Services grant money is funded through the General Fund. The City
received twelve applications totaling over $300,000 in response to the
request for proposals. The City of Ashland Housing and Human Services
Advisory Committee will review the grant requests and make a
recommendation for grant awards to the City Council. Subsequently, the
City Council will hold a public hearing on March 19, 2024, and make the
final decision on grant awards.
Applicants will have the opportunity to speak briefly about their proposals
and answer questions, should the Committee members have any,
regarding their proposals. Presentations are optional and is not
mandatory to receive funding. Presentations will be in alphabetical order
providing about five minutes to each presenter depending on the number
of presenters in attendance.
