Progress distributing Gateway announcement
The group clarified which member was responsible for areas of distribution:
Garrington (Oregon), Hepford (Portland), Clark (Washington), Friend (California), Bussell
(Montana/Idaho) Seltzer (arts organizations). It was suggested that the following be included
in the email announcement “Please be aware that incomplete submittals will not be
considered”.
Seltzer will send “thank you” to artist who send a submittal.
Letter of Interest submitted to ArtPlace
Hepford reported she submitted the Letter of Inquiry to ArtPlace, a national art granting
organization. This is a preliminary step prior to the actual grant process. She will follow up
to make sure it was received and also noted that the information in the Letter of Interest will
serve as a spring board for grant applications. The next deadline is January 14, for an Our
Town grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Update on submittals for Calle
Seltzer reported she has not received any submittals for the Gateway project. Members
commented that submittals will likely arrive just prior to the deadline.
PAC representation at Mayor’s brown bag lunch
Bussell will represent PAC in January.
General Discussion
The PAC discussed the Mayor’s request for a representative of the PAC (and other
commissions) on the ad hoc downtown improvement committee. The group asked PAC
member Sandy Friend to represent the commission. Friend agreed to do so.
The group asked council liaison Rosenthal about Council Goal Setting. Rosenthal was not
sure what the process will be this year (2014) explaining 2014 is in between budget cycles
but he encouraged the PAC to feel free to submit ideas for possible goals.
Meeting adjourned at 10:00.
