HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-06-08 Public Arts MIN Minutes Public Art Commission June 8, 2012 Special Meeting Attendance Commissioners: Davis, Bussell, Garrington, Pugh, Friend, Seltzer (staff) Absent Lemhouse (Council Liaison) Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 8:1 5 a.m. Timeline and Criteria for Selection of Art for Fire Station No.2 After reviewing the criteria stated in the RFP, the commission agreed to screen/evaluate criteria items 2, 3, 4 and 5 and ask the selection panel to evaluate criteria 1. Items 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be screened as yes/no and item 1 will be discussions questions used by the selection panel to evaluate the submissions. Seltzer will develop draft discussion questions related to Project Intent. PAC will review the questions prior to moving forward with the Selection Panel. The award is to be made by September 1, so the PAC will likely start to solicit participants for the Selection Panel beginning in July. Meeting adjourned at 9:45. RFP Criteria for Selection for Fire Station No. 2: 1. An initial proposal that reflects Project Intent as described in this document. 2. A body of work reflecting artistic excellence. 3. Experience working in public settings and public process 4. Experience fabricating and installing permanent artwork suitable for the outdoor environment. 5. References provided as part of this application which will be contacted prior to final selection.
