RE: Discussion of the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan
and the Transportation System Plan (TSP)
Planning Commissioners have previously requested that study sessions include
presentations and discussions of individual Comprehensive Plan elements.
For the May 28 study session, Public Works Director Scott Fleury and Linda Peterson

Adams, chair of the Transportation Advisory Committee will be present to discuss the
Transportation Element and the Transportation System Plan, a supporting document
of the Comprehensive Plan, and related transportation items.
The Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan is Chapter X of the Plan and
can be viewed on-line at: https://ashlandoregon.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1473/

page 187 of 386.
The acknowledged Transportation System Plan (TSP) can be reviewed on-line in its

System-Plan-2013-PDF?bidId= . Public Works has received a grant from the Oregon
Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a complete update of the TSP and is
currently working with ODOT to finalize the scope of work and contract documents.
Work would begin shortly thereafter and is anticipated to be completed by May 31,
2026. The Planning Commission will be involved in that process which is intended to
dovetail with the Climate Friendly Area planning efforts also getting underway.
