Note: Of the sums expended by the Ashland Municipal Court, $43,100.00 was transferred to the
City of Ashland for Central Service Charges for the general operation of the city. If this
portion of the Central Service Charges were not paid by the Municipal Court, $43,100 would
be allocated among the budgets of the other city departments and paid from other city
revenues.

Note: If a defendant violates the conditions of his/her diversion, the diversion is revoked,
a conviction is entered on the defendant's driving record, and the City pays an
assessment of $37 to the State of Oregon from the $108 diversion fee, leaving $71.00
of the diversion fee for City of Ashland. If the defendant completes his,/her diversion
successfully, the traffic citation is dismissed, no conviction is entered on the
defendant's driving record, no assessment is due to the State, and the City keeps the
$108 diversion fee.
Note: Approximately four percent (4%) of defendants placed on traffic diversion violate the
conditions of their diversion, resulting in a conviction and payment of the unitary
assessment to the State. Ninety-six percent (96%) of defendants placed on traffic
diversion successfully complete the conditions of their diversion, resulting in their
traffic citation being dismissed and no conviction going on their driving record.
