Voice Vote: ALL AYES the minutes from August 22, 2024, have been approved. IV.PUBLIC FORUM (4:05-4:15 p.m.) A.Public Forum. N/A V.NEW BUSINESS A.Preliminary Discussion of Climate Friendly Areas (4:15-5:00p.m.) Presented by Scott Fregonese with 3J Consulting, Mackenzie Visser with ECO northwest, Elizabeth Decker with JET Planning, and Derek Seversen Planning Manager with the City of Ashland. Topics covered in the presentation: What is a CFA. How climate friendlyareas are selected. The city of Ashland is looking at 3 different areas. o Railroad property. o Transit Triangle. o Croman Mill. Key CFA Requirements. Residential Density. B.Public Hearing-Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report Review and Approval (5:00-5:15p.m.) Linda Reidgave a brief overviewof theCAPERand the process for our new Committee members. OHRA and Maslow are the two organizations from the 2023 year that were awarded funds.Reid reviewed the progress made for both organizations with their allotted funds. Bass/Gilliand m/s. Voice Vote: ALL AYES. The Committee moves to accept the CAPER as presented. VI.UNFINISHED BUSINESS A.Education and Community Engagement Planning Discussion Continued (5:15-5:45 p.m.). The date of the event is set for Thursday, November 14 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The location is still being determined. Table themes and participants were discussed. VII.INFORMATIONAL ITEMS A.Liaison Reports Reidattended a conference with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Staff. While at the conference Reid was able to speak with Brian Guiney, from the Portland HUD field office, Guiney would love to bring Kristen Ray down to Ashland with him to speak with elected and appointed officials about how HUD can work with communities to work toward gaining more affordable housing. B.General Announcements The Unitarian Church is holding a public forum on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from5:30-7:30 p.m. where they will discuss the proposed plans for 2200 AshlandSt. Southern Oregon Housing for Allcommunity forum will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. in the Gresham room at the Ashland publiclibrary.
