IV. PUBLIC FORUM
V. ADJUSTMENTS TO THE AGENDA (15 min)
VI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Water Treatment Plant Trail alternate route (20 min)
i. Jeff is working on arranging a meeting with Mike Faught to talk about
using the water treatment plant road. Jeff and David will approach the issue
first. They will approach the City Council if needed.
B. Report on AFP Map Interface Package, Short Demonstration(20 min)
i. The interactive map is now live. Rickey at City GIS put together the Help
Page document. This will be a great tool for commission meetings when
discussing trails. The Ashland Forest Plan link takes you to Chapter 8 and
the species lists that are in the inventory data. Add a statement"Click here
to see the attribute table in the Ashland Forest Plan." It would be nice to
pull the latest Google Earth aerial imagery to show thinning, prescribed
burning, etc. Send your kudos to Rickey Fite with the City for his hard
work on the interactive map.
VII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Climate Energy Action Plan Ad Hoc Committee Update (20 min)
a. Stef set up a meeting with the Mayor Stromberg, John Karns and Adam
Hanks. Frank did his presentation and it was well received. A
representative from the Forest Lands Commission could be a part of the
CEAP Implementation. It would be great if Steve communicates this with
Stef and gets a representative on the committee.
B. Trails Master Plan Committee Update (10 min)
a. The Master Trail Plan met and talked about Hamilton and Clay Creek and
looking at opportunities to get trails in those areas. There maybe an
opportunity to get a trail through Hamilton Creek. There is talk about a
central bike path through Ashland. There was a nice Sneak Preview piece
on Torsten Heycke.
b. There are 2 trails that could use names in Lithia Park. They straddle the
main Lithia Park trail.
C. AFR and AFAR Project Update (10 min)
a. Alison talked about the Lower Trail reroute. Old AFR data needs to still be
available to the public. A tour is scheduled for July 29th. Send information
about the tour time/date to the Commission. It would be nice for the Forest
Lands Commission to have their own tour. Resilient forests should be the
key.
D. AFP City Lands Update (10 min)
a. No comment.
VIII. COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
The picnic table at Lewis Lookout is still in the works. A sign that reads "Pack
out your litter" is already ordered and other signs are on their way.
