I. CALL TO ORDER: 12:05 PM
II. INTRODUCTIONS
Present: Eric Olson, Kathy Kane, Pete Nowell,Ron Parker, Mike Morris, Firewise Communities
Coordinator Ali True, Administrative Assistant Kimberley Summers.
Absent: Kelly Gustafson, Jim Hardt, Ron Bolstad and Chief John Karns
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 15`h meeting-Approved

VI. BUSINESS
A. Review Volunteer time/Commissioner Handbooks
B. Commission chairperson appointment—postponed due to lack of quorum at the meeting
C. Update on current Firewise Communities by Neighborhood
a) Briscoe/We have two applications that are being processed at the national level.
b) Grove/Mountain Meadows is postponing until greater level of residential
involvement and participation
c) Lincoln/Merrill Circle community application is pending. Quailhaven and Roca
Canyon are planning their Firewise Days
d) Terra/two communities West Terra planning Juniper round-up day in the next month.
There are 27 homes in the CERT community. Pinecrest Terrace has one property
owner left to contact before moving forward.
e) Oak Knoll/No update from them yet, they will be working on next year's Firewise
day.
D. Discussion of City-wide Firewise project ideas for 2012
a. Provide awareness and participation for the community that will meet the goal of this
group timeline is Spring/May 2012.
1. Firewise Day proclaimed by the Mayor
2. Firewise landscaping contest provide a sign or award
3. Spring clean up day partnership with the local landfill
4. Look into the dumpster set up on City Property, one day with
volunteers to help manage it, cannot leave it overnight
5. Invite one person from each Firewise communities meeting to share
the experience tour the neighborhoods
6. Drawing contest with the schools, regarding Firewise
7. Stuffer in the weed abatement educational letter
8. 4th of July Parade—Firewise entry or float
C. 10 Minute Training—postponed because of lack of time
D. Suggestions for future Ten Minute Trainings
a. Please e-mail any suggestions to Ali True for training opportunities.
VII. COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
a. Firewise flyers available to hand out to the community to gain interest, to help get the
word out would be a good idea.

A. Next Regularly Scheduled Meetings: August 17th, September 2Is', and October 19th, 2011
