A. New Business
a. County Notification Systems (Memo February 2018)
i. Reverse 911 System- everyone needs to opt in. If communications fail,then the
system does not work. In Napa Fire,the communications failed so it was door to
door.
ii. There are other systems available.Nixle. It is a national wide system that notifies
you of anything in your area, amber alert, fire,road block.
iii.NextDoor: Pushing out information. Government agencies can use NextDoor to
push out information to multiple neighborhoods. (Ashland Peeps)
B. Old Business
a. Firewise Gardens
i. Firewise Garden around the Station 1 is being mapped out.
b. Firewise Demonstration Trailer
i. This design and pricing portion of the project is about 60%complete. Doug is
looking at 6x 10 trailers at Trailers Plus in Medford. It can be towed by a half ton
truck.
c. Flammable Vegetation Videos
i. Alison showed some of the footage from the Firewise Expo including

i. Plant List Subcommittee

• Chris,Alison and Brandon went through the Ordinance and

• Met yesterday and will continue meeting every month. The
Evacuation/Communication portion of the Task Force needs to
become the priority after the Smoke Business Workshop.
v. Community Wildfire Protection Plan Subcommittee
vi. Farmer's Market
• 0-5 feet home ignition zone focused. Doug has added some new rock
scape and synlawn to the table. We will have a 3ftx3ft table for
handouts and our 8 foot table for rock,plants and bark. The table
should have a list of current rock prices compared to bark mulch and
the maintenance.
• Create a rock list like the plant list that includes
• Bark Mulch Replacement Program similar to the
WaterWise program.
• It is recommended to use weed barrier underneath rock mulch.

vii.WaterWise vs. Firewise
• The WaterWise and Firewise Programs should meet to discuss these
parameters of the programs so that there is less confusion with
contractors. We need to discuss Lot Coverage.
• TO DO: A meeting needs to happen before the Wildfire Ordinance
goes to the Planning Commission. A meeting is intended to have
WaterWise, Planning and Firewise groups together. The topic of this
meeting is to synchronizing. Scott Flurry, Chris Chambers, Brandon

A. The CEAP AD-Hoc Committee is meeting this Thursday, looping at measurements of the CEAP
goals, and connect with different commissions and departments.
B. 011ie connected the spring term Ecological Restoration 399 course with the Strawberry Hald Park
scotch broom project.
