A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING OWNERSHIP OF THE
HARGADINE CEMETERY
RECITALS:
A. The Hargadine Cemetery is located at 375 Sheridan Street, Ashland, OR 97520.
B. The Hargadine Cemetery is 1.46 in acreage upon Tax lot 391E05AC—7400
C. The Hargadine Cemetery was approved for transfer to the City from private
ownership in 1930,the economic crisis of the Depression prevented that from
occurring, and cemetery conditions worsened.
D. As no official transfer of deed was found,the City used to the legislative process, and
in 1989 by means of an Act of the Oregon Legislature (House Bill 3017)the cemetery
shifted from private and was available for municipal ownership.
E. The City Council now desires to officially take full and complete conveyance of
ownership of the Hargadine Cemetery.
THE CITY OF ASHLAND HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Oregon 1989 House Bill 3017, and ORS Chapter 226,the City of
Ashland conveys, accepts, and adopts full ownership of the Hargadine Cemetery.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective upon adoption.
This resolution was duly PASSED and ADOPTED this day of
and takes effect upon signing by the Mayor.
