A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL SEASONAL EVENT DAY ON
DECEMBER 6th,2025,PER ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE 13.03.030
RECITALS:
A. Per Ashland Municipal Code 13.03.030, "... the City Council may, at its discretion and
upon such conditions as it deems appropriate, grant permission to adjacent owners and
occupants by special permit for free use of the sidewalk permit areas in the commercial
zones of the City for designated seasonal events."
B. Such seasonal events shall be designed and structured to fulfill a special public need to
promote tourism and economic development.
C. The Ashland Chamber of Commerce has requested permission to host a Holiday Sip&
Shop event in the C-1-D Zone on December 6'h,2025, from 12pm-7pm,where business
owners can use free use of the sidewalk adjacent to their businesses for the display of
merchandise.
D. It is the desire of the City Council to support seasonal events that draw visitors to
Ashland's businesses.
THE CITY OF ASHLAND HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.A special permit is granted for free use of the sidewalk permit area in the
downtown commercial zone for the City on December 6,2025, from 12pm to 7pm,pursuant to
the following conditions:
a. Businesses maintain a minimum of 6 feet of sidewalk clearance.
b. The use of the sidewalk does not inhibit public parking,bicycle or vehicle travel,or
intersection visibility.
c. The use of the sidewalk does not block doorways, fire escapes, stairways, or other
ingress/egress.
d. The Ashland Chamber of Commerce acts as sponsor,providing insurance to the City of
Ashland for this event.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective upon adoption.
This reso ution was duly PASSED and ADOPTED this _day of
