Page 1of 3 Public Arts Advisory CommitteeMeetingMinutes Vote:All ayes -motion passed unanimously (MacCracken Jain, Warden, Way, Preskenis, Copley) IV.(4:27) PUBLIC FORUM a)Caroline Lion, Save the Art Non-profit (advice/direction) V.(4:37) LAISON REPORT a)City Council Liaison, Gina DuQuenne –Council approved the Traffic Signal Box designs via Consent Agenda item b)APR Staff Liaison, Rachel Dials–Butler-PerozziFountain update c)Community Development Liaison, Veronica Allen–SabrinaCotta has directed PAAC to identify possible art project locations and types for a project in South Ashlandthat will utilize T.O.T funds VI.(4:45) DISCUSSION ITEMS-FORMAL ACTIONS& MOTIONS a)Mural Fest & Fringe Fest Task Group Update –Fringe artists (metal fish & flowers) metal fish artist excited to gift art, PAAC requested reaching out to Fringe to identify possibility of receiving both the fish and flower pieces and the possibility of painting them. OHRA is interested in receiving any art from city including the mural from Mural Fest. Motion:Susan M. motion to extend the offer to donate the Mural from Mural fest for placement in an exterior location on the OHRA property.Second:Heather W. Vote:All ayes.Mike Morrison to provide estimated cost of installation, PAAC to clarify who will pay the fee after receiving the estimate. b)Guanajuato Heart Task Group –Heather W. update: possible parks locations & Rachel provided brief overview on process, meeting once Kate returns c)Meeting TimeStart Time & Possible changes –all agree between last month and this month to change start time to 4:30PM and allow for end time buffer of 6-6:30PM as needed d)Pioneer Mike Discussion–identifying the temperature for removal of Pioneer Mike in the plaza, Peter Finkle provide overview of history; consensusof not right now if ever, but need to reorganize Public Arts Story Map so it is not the first art piece listed recommended to use North to South reorganization VII.(5:25) OTHER BUSINESS UPDATES a)Budget Update –remaining rollover dollars of approximately $8,272.17 & FY 26 remaining acquisition $14,365 & $0 for maintenance after proposed/approved projects in progress(without the $2,878 for plaque 2’s labor). Installation costs were estimated at $1,000 per plaque originally but real cost was closer to $2,000 each. Shortfall amount will need to be verified, and a motion made for the difference at next meeting. Note: Anyone wishing to speak at any Public Arts Advisory Committee meeting is encouraged to do so. Reid, and Inorganic Compound are pieces. c)Traffic Signal Box Selection Panel Update - approved by Council, ODOT to replace 1 or two boxes on our list, one of which is to be painted (Siskiyou & Mountain) and must be put on hold. Previously painted boxes being replaced could potentially be an issue. Start thinking about next box location for this winter. Inquire with Public Works/ODOT about keeping the box art & possibly consider using vinyl wraps moving forward. d)Playwright’s Walk Plaques Update – Asking Ashland Roary club to pay for second plaque, has also approached Amigo Club for funding.Shared the quote chosen by Senora Chela that everyone seemed to like at August meeting & artist choice. Recommended vertical installation.
