This Agrv:ement ("Agreement") is made on the date of the last signature, by and between the City
of Ashland ("City")thrtrugh the Parks and Recreation Department ("Parks and Recreation') and
civekside Strings, collectively the "Parties."
A. This Agreement is entered into with the mutual understanding that programming collaboration
between Parks and Rccraltlon and Crccksidc Strings,a Not-for-Profit Organization,provides a
significant value to the community. Parks and Recrcation recognize the exceptional
contributions of Crccksidc Strings programming provided by staff and volunteer instructors.
Crccksidc Strings' annual community programming involves 3 summer camps serving 200
students, 3 community dances serving 360 people and 15-25 jams with 10-30 participants. In
addition,Creekside Strings offers a mcntoring program called Fiddle in the Park where 10 high
school age fiddlers teach 40 younger students throughout the summer. A portion of the
program offerings have been held in Parks and Recreation facilities, including North Mountain
Park,the Nature Center,and Lidria Park.Creekside Strings would like to expand their
community offerings to include other Parks facilities like the newly remodeled Community
Center.
B. Parks and Recreation and Creekside Strings trade advertising in regular publications going out
to Ashland community members. Shared advertising and facility use helps reduce associated
expenses with programming,furthering the goals of both organizations.
C. This Agreement aims to formalize the partnership, acknowledge the value of each Parry's
contributions,and outline the specific responsibilities of the Parties in order to facilitate
equitable trades in advertising and facility usage and programming benefits between Creekside
Strings and Parks and Recreation.
D. Effective dates:January 1,2026,through June 30,2026
Therefore, the Parties agree to the terms set forth:
1. Creekside Strings agrees to provide advertising opportunities for Parks and Recreation when
appropriate
a. Recognition of Park and Recreation partnership/sponsorship on Fiddle Camp t-shirts
when camps are held in Ashland Parks.
b. Recognition on the Creekside Strings website or other digital communications/media,
including e-mails,e-newsletters,social media,etc. when appropriate and relevant to
advertised content.
c. Recognize a partnership/sponsorship with the city by placing"the Parks and Recreation
logo on any advertising materials for programs directly associated with Parks and
Recreation facilities or programs.
2. Maintain,at Creekside Strings own expense,general liability, with a combined single limit,of
not less than$1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, death,and property damage.
3. Parks and Recreation agree to give preferred access to Parks and Recreation facilities for
Crccksidc Strings-sponsored programs in accordance with policies governing reservations and
activity programming. Furthermore, Parks and Recreation and Crccksidc Strings will engage

and conmuutily benefits,Parks and Recreation ngrcc to reduce fees for scheduled activities in
the Natutr Center and the Pavilion at the rate of$10/hour.
d. When possible, Parks and Recreation will provide resources,materials,and/or services for
facilities used for Crccksidc Strings prognunnting.This may include tables,chairs,and other
city-owned equipment authorized to be used by partnering organisations.
S. Parties ague to meet twice yearly to check in on traded services to ensure the continuation of
equitable contributions.
a. Creekside Strings provides an equitable amount of ad placement or partnership
recognition in their entails, flyers,T-shirts,etc.per year compared to Parks and
Recreation contributions.
b. Parks and Recreation provide an equitable amount of advertising and facility access
for programming needs in return for Crccksidc Strings contributions
c. Parties will coonlinalc and review trade values due to variable use of park amenities,
rate changes,and programming adjustments.
G. Tcrn and Termination:
a. Either Party may terminate this Agreement with a 30-day written notice or
immediately for cause. In the event of termination for cause,the terminating Party
may do so immediately if the other Party breaches any material term or condition of
this Agreement,including but not limited to violations of safety protocols or misuse of
resources.The non-breaching Party shall notify the breaching Party in writing,
specifying the nature of the breach.
b. A meeting will be held annually to review the status of the partnership,assess the
volunteer(tours contributed,and discuss future needs.
7. Indemnification:
a. Creekside Strings agrees to indemnify,defend,and hold harmless the City of Ashland,
its officers,officials,employees,and agents from and against any and all claims,
damages,liabilities, costs,or expenses(including reasonable attomey fees)arising out
of or related to Crccksidc Strings'activities,except to the extent caused by the
negligence or willful misconduct of Parks and Recreation.This indemnification shall
include,but not be limited to,claims arising from injury to persons or damage to
property caused by Creekside Strings, its volunteers,or its representatives during the
performance of their volunteer activities.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,By signing below,the Parties acknowledges that they have read and
understood this Agreement and agree,to the tenns outlined herein.
