Meeting called to order at 7:20 p.m.
Members Present:
January Jennings (Advisory Member)
Jack Goldberg
Approval of Minutes - No quorum. Correct February minutes to reflect
Jack Goldberg in attendance.
Guests: Alexandra Scheck
Old Business:
Arbor Week Planning - Items discussed included:
1. Kerr left word that Apple Cellar will donate 100 cookies for tree
planting event. Jennings will call Rob Day one week prior to event to
make arrangements.
2. Jennings will contact Murray Huggins, Bagpipe Major, about
playing for the Tree City USA ceremony as well as the tree planting
event.
3. Jennings also contacted the Wilderness Charter School teachers
who said thei~ students would be interested in an activity having to do
with flood restoration. She will call Donn Todt regarding possible
Middle School involvement.
4. Jennings drafted an newspaper article about Planner Mark Knox
and presented it for feedback. It explained how the 1996 Tree of the
Year was saved. Others present approved of the article and she will
have Know review it.
5. Jennings will talk to Nancy Slocum about obtaining a blank banner
for across East Main Street. There is a possibility that the SOSC
Graphic Arts Department may be able to do the printing.
New Business:
A. Planning Actions: Postponed for lack of quorum.
B. The attending members wished Nancy Kerr well on her move to Seattle.
C. A letter from Laura Waggoner was read and will be presented again at
the March meeting.
