November 20, 1999 WWTP ON-SITE PROJECT UPDATE - CAROLLO PROGRESS REPORTS NO. 10 & 11 AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 1999 Attached are copies of the last two-month's progress reports from Carollo Engineers encompassing August and September's construction activity of the On-Site Process Improvements. To date we have had 16 change orders, including one for a complete rebuild of the Ashland Creek Pump Station. The pump station change order alone was $I,136,000. The most recent changes are due to delays on the off-site contract and interim measures for sludge processing. Original Contract Amount Change Orders to Date (detail on next page) (note - without the Ashland Creek Pump Station changes total $761,675 or 6.16%) Total Approved Contract to Date $12,374,000.00 1,897,675.00 $14,253,675.00 15.34% Work on the pump station is complete and the old pump station should be demolished in December. The on-site work is proceeding well, however because of the off-site delays, there has been a need to revise operations of the sludge processing, which has delayed the start up of the oxidation ditches. Slayden Construction is still maintaining the majority of the elements in their schedule. Slayden expects to test the oxidation ditch this coming January with raw sewage, and be operable late this winter. Staff will receive initial training on the new process in December. The majority of the big concrete work is completed. Slayden is concentrating on electrical and site piping portions. · Page 1 Change Order Summary I Minor changes; add grinder pump temp headworks 2 Relocate the trunk line around the RAS/WAS 3 Over-excavation and rock backfill RAS/WAS 4 Miscellaneous improvements to the u/v building 5 Misc changes including additional RAS/WAS fill 6 Electrical changes to 12KV duct bank plus misc 7 Yard Hydrants, UV Electrical changes; credits for chlorine monorail relocation and sodium hypochlorite containment drains 8 Influent Junction Box (new requirement); revise monoraii size - RAS/WAS pump station 9 Rock Excavation (change in site conditions); gyp-board in UV Building 10 V-Notch Weirs For C larifiers And Misc Changes 11 Painting For Secondary Clarifiers; Misc Piping And Freight Charges 12 New Raw Sewage Force Main 13 New Ashland Creek Pump Station 14 Interim Sludge Facilities; Lime Silo & Scrubber 15 Effluent Pipeline, Pressure Relief Valve, etc 16 Rock Excavation - Mixed Liquir Pipeline TOTAL CHANGES TO DATE $23,527.00 $47,500.00 $33,744.00 $14,997.00 $11,170.00 $19,868.00 $ 7,114.00 $41,978.00 $48,920.00 $30,858.00 $40,445.00 $79,128.00 $I,136,000.00 $248,285.00 $21,773.00 $74,368.00 $1,897,675.00 prior memo prIOr memo prior memo prior memo prior memo prlor memo prior memo prior memo prior memo prior memo prior memo prior memo prior memo new Hew flew · Page 2
