ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL
May 14, 1985
A special meeting was called to order by Mayor Medaris on the above date at 7:00 P.M. in
the Service Center lunch room, 90 N. Mountain Avenue. Present were Councilors Bennett,
Reid, Elerath, Laws, Smith and Acklin.
Councilor Laws stated the purpose of the meeting was to discuss whether the written response
by Attorney Michael Jewerr, representing Ed Krahel, met the intent of the Council in offer-
ing to compromise the number of railroad cars which could remain on the property. Councilor
Bennett stated that she did not believe Mr. Krahel was willing to remove any of the rail cars,
and his proposal to screen the cars was unacceptable. Councilor Acklin stated that due to
the slope of the land, that the proposed screening would be ineffective. Councilor Reid
stated that we have an obligation to the immediate neighbors to enforce the Zoning ordinance,
and that Mr. Krahel's behavior had been uncompromising. After considerable discussion, the
consensus of the Council was to allow their previous action to initiate legal proceedings
to go forward.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
