Laws moved to concur; McDowell seconded and on voice vote, all YE~. Terms of office of the Endowment Committee of the Hospital Board were read (attached). Ragland moved to accept; Allen seconded and on voice, passed unanimously. The public hearing was closed. On McCannon's question as to how Colony Inn is publicized, Cottie explained through travel agencies, brochures and information passed on to schools, colleges etc. Hoffarth asked Cottie if they pay motel tax and Cottie said they do not pay but are willing to pay should the ordinance be amended to that effect. On Hoffarth's question cf Chief Hays, Hays said he preferred 'B,rin Plunges over E. because of proxi~niny to bankg. Greene FINANCIAI, COMMENTARY July 31, 1976 PARKS & RECREATION FINANCIAL COE{ENTARY RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT OFFER-AIRPORT CONTRACT AREA AGENCY ON AGING-RVCOG LIAISON REPORTS EXEC~fIVE SESSION Recorder Butler presented two liquor license renewals - Rondo Lanes, 1505 Siskiyou Blvd., (George & Eleanor Ward); and Angelo's Pizza Parlor of 1585 Siskiyou Blvd., (Robert Perkins & Roy Smith.) McCannon moved for approval; seconded by Hoffarth. On roll call vote, Allen abstained, Laws was absent from the room and all others voted YES. Motion CARRIED. A letter from Michael Krug was read requesting a sewer hook-up on Clay St., outside the City limits. Council was reminded by the City Administrator that previous requests had been denied in the area until completion of the Comprehensive Plan. Ragland said the request falls in the peripheral area in the urban growth boundary. Hoffarth said the City is obligated te ~rant the request based oD expansion of our sewer treatment plant and opting out of Bear Creek Valley Sanitary District and added that there is no justifica- tion to our allowing hook-up for State facilities and denying local propert~ owners. Allen moved to grant request; Hoffarth seconded. McCannon asked what policy we would stand on for those refused and Almquist said that the ordinance was written to include hook-up of existing homes as of July I, 1973 and that future requests be considered individually by Council. rne problem of PP&L service for the lots would compound the problem of acquiriz~ the service from them should the area be annexed. On roll call vote, A!len~ Hoffarth, McCannon, Ragland and McDowell voted for approval. Laws opposed, A memorandum from Director of Finance Nelson was read relative to bid on Seventh Street yard property stating only one bid was received in the amount of $16,101.50 and recommended that the bid should be accepted. Allen !~oved that bid be accepted and Mayor and Rezordar ha authorized to execute the deed; McCannon seconded and on roll call, passed unanimously. Accepted with no action necessary. Accepted with no action necessary Almquist explained that the grant had been reduced to $50,000 from the original estimate of $130,000 which includes paving of the entrance road and which excludes the parking lot which in the interim has been completed. The resolution accepting the grant was read. McDowell moved for adoption and that Mayor and City Recorder be authorized to sign the Grant offer. Allen seconded and on roll call, all YES. Contract with Rogue Valley Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging was presented. JUSTICE CENTER SITE ADJOURN}~NT Ragland moved to offer Willatatter, owner of Twin Plunges property, a deposit of $50.00 for a ninety day option at a sales price of $90,000 for the 2,8 acre site with the offer being good until Friday, September 10, 197. at 12:00 Noon.
