ADJOURNMENT
The City Council met in adjourned session at 4:00 p.m. on the
above date in the Council Chambers. Mayor Prickett and Council-
men Ragland, McCannon and Laws were present; Allel1, Hoffarth
and McDowell were absent.
Recorder Butler presented the abstract of the votes from the
June 3rd special election on a tax override in the amount of
$137,400. The abstract showed 448 votes for the measure, 1029
votes against the measure, and one void vote.
Butler then read a resolution declaring the canvass of the vote
and defeat of the measure. McCannon moved to adopt the resolution;
seconded by Ragland and passed unanimously on voice vote.
Finance Director Nelson told the Council that the cost of repairinq
the City Hall heat pump would be only about half 'of the estimated
$7,000 he had reported at the previous meeting. He said $7,000
would be the approximate cost of replacing the complete unit,
but it was found that only parts of the unit will need replace-
ment, and he was proceeding to call for bids on those components.
Ragland moved to authorize staff to proceed with purchase on low
bid if staff feels lcw bid is satisfactory, but if low bid appears
to be not acceptable, to bring bids to Council. Seconded by Laws
and passed unanimously on voice vote.
