MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING
'ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL
May 8, 1973
The adjourned meeting was called to order by Mayor Fries. on
the above date at 7:30 p.m. Allen, Roble, McCannon, Prickett,
· and Conklin were present. Soderberg arrived a minute later.
Mayor Frles commented on the copies'of the abstract of vote
distributed to the Council members which showed 631 votes
cast for approval of changing the Recorder~s salary to $12,408
per year, and 414 votes against the measure. He then read
the resolution declaring the canvass of the vote at the
special election held in the City of Ashland on May 7, 19)3.
McCannon moved for adoption of the resolution; passed
unanimously on roll call.vote.
Mayor [ries read his proclamation that the voters had ap-
proved a change in the City Recorder's safary effective
July 1, 1973.
Conklin moved that a public hearing on the proposed budget
for 1973-74 be set at 7:30 p.m. on June 5, 1973. Passed
unanimously on roll call vote.
Conklin commended the Mayor for the letter to the Tidings
which was published in the MaySth edition.
Mayor Fries read a letter from Sutton~. Company of Sacramento
in which they announced that they were giving up plans to
remodel the Mark Antony Hotel because of discontinuance of
the FHA-236 program, and.thanking the City for their co-
operation in planning.
Conklin moved for adjournment. Unanimously approved on
voice vote. Adjourned to study session at 7:37 p.m.
