ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL
April 17, 1969
An adjourned meeting of the City Council was held in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date. The
meeting was called to order at approximately 12:25 P.M.
by Chairman Cottle. Councilmen Jones, Haines, O'Harra
and Willstatter were present. Mayor McKeen and Councilman
Roberts were absent.
City Attorney Skerry read ordinance calling for a special
election on April 30, 1969, for the purpose of submitted to
the voters of the City a measure for a five-year levy to
provide funds in the amount of $210,000 each year for the
Police Department and a second measure for a five-year
levy to provide funds in the amount of $250,000 each year
for the Street Department.
Following reading of ordinance, it was moved by Haines,
seconded by Willstatter that the rules be suspended and
ordinance passed to second reading by title only. On roll
call, carried 4-1 with Jones dissenting.
Following second reading by title only, it was moved by
Haines, seconded by O'Harra that Ordinance No./~/
be adopted. On roll call, carried 4-1 with Jones dis-
senting.
It was moved by Haines, seconded by O'Harra that the meeting
be adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor. Motion carried
unanimously.
