Un~nished BusIness: 1. Award of bids - Janitorlal Buiidlng Maintenance for City Hall. City Administrator Boshears indicated that 16 mnvlcations to bid were sent out and and three b~ds were received. The low bid o~ $262.00 was received from Lambert's Maintenance Servmce of Medfo£d~ Oregon. It was the recoR~endation of sta~z that the bid be awarded to Lambert's Maintenance Service. It was moved by Collie, seconded by Whirham that the staff's recoimnendation be app~oved. Cazrled unanimously. 2. Award of bids - 8" gate valves - Three bids were received, the low being $l,323~84 ~rom Consolidated Supply Co., Portland, Oregon. It was the recom~endatlon of star~ that the bid from Consolidated Supply Co. in ~he a~Lo~nt of $1,3z384 be accepted° It was moved by Roberts, seconded by Whirham ~hat the staf~'s recommendation be appro~ed. On roll call, carried ~nanimous[y~ 3 Oregon Shakespearean Festival Association utilization of Park land. Cl~y Attorney Sker~y read the Resolution, indicating there were two changes~ They were: (1) the lease would be subject to Park Commission app~o~'al; and~ ,2~ the City of Ashland agrees to remove the Y~M.C~A~ Bulidlng, Hathaway RestauIant Building, and the foImer Stiles residence~ rt was moved by Roberts~ seconded by Baker that the rules be suspended and the Resolution passed to second reading by title only. On roll call, carried ~nan~mous~y~ Following the second reading, it was moved by Baker, seconded by Cottle that the Resolution be adopted~ On roll call, carried ~nanlmo~sly, b, New & Miscellaneous Business: 1, Petition ~o[ curb, 9utter and paging - Pinecrest Terrace near Leonard Street, Director of Public Works Alsing indicated that paving of this streets during the 1968 season looks favorable~ it was moved by Ward, seconded by Roberts that City Attorney Skerry be instructed to draft an OrdInance ~or the next regular meeting setting a Public Hearing for said ~mprovements. On roll call, carried unanimously. PUBLrC HEARING 8:00 P M~ Public Hearing - Emma Street from Elkader to a point 310' west O~ SOU~h Mountain Avenue. Director of Public Works Alsing stated that at th~s pomnt, out of ten property owners, six property owners {56%} had signed in favor o~ the improvements, Mayor Pro-tem Jones called for those Ln favor o~ Lhe improvements to speak. Mr. F. L. Moore, 1120 Emma Street, spoke in favor o~ the impzovements, representing those property owners also in ~avor. Mrs. Ralph Jones o~ 1000 Emma Street spoke against the improvements, Following some Eurther d~scussion, City Attorney Skerry re~d the improvement Ordinance. Following the ~eading, it was moved by ward, seconded by Whlnham that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance passel ~o second reading by title only. On roll call, carried unanimously. Following the second reading, it was moved by Baker, seconded by Roberts that the Ordinan3e be adopted~ On roll call, carrZed unanimously. At this time, a Study Session was scheduled for Frlday, July 12 to review the Y.M.C,A, matter, It was moved by Baker, seconded by Jones that the minutes of the last special meeting of June 27 be approved and placed on file.
