HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-0825 ADJOURNED MINADDITION TO THE MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING August 25, 1966 The Common Council of the City of Ashland met in an adjourned session at 12:30 P~M., August 25, 1966 with Mayor Richard Neill presiding. Present were Councilmen Baker, Cottle, Roberts, Ward and Whitham. Councilman Lewis was absent. The purpose of this meeting was to let bids on the Hospital addition. Bids were received from the following: Medford Construction Batzer Construction Ausland Construction Bessonette Graff & James Wiley Co. $ 217,809.00 208,000.00 207,780.00 212,858.00 208,340.00 224,245.00 The low bidder was Ausland Construction with deductive alternate exercised was Alternate No. 2 $1,541.00, making the total bid $206,239.00. $207,780.00. The only and Ausland's bid was It was stated that the approximate completion date would be February 1, 1967. It was moved by Ward, seconded by Roberts that the Mayor and City Recorder be authorized to sign the contract in the amount of $206,239.00. On roll call, carried unanimously. At this time, Mr. Elmer Biegel, representing the Hospital Board, requested that the City Council lend the Hospital $36,486.00 for additional equipment and fixtures. It was moved by Whitham, seconded by Cottle that this request be granted and said amount of money be loaned to the Hospital. On roll call, carried unanimously. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned, subject to the call of the Mayor. W. E. Bartelt, City Recorder DATE: August 19, OPENING OF PAVING BIDS - AUGUST 15, 1966 1966 Bids for paving were sent to Rogue River Construction Company, T. Ro Florey Construction and was advertised in the Daily Journal of Commerce. There was one bid received, that being from Concrete Steel Corporation of Medford in the amount of $29,467.61. The estimated cost was approximately $40,000.00. It was the recommendation of the City Staff that this bid be accepted. Upon polling the City Council by phone on August 15, 1966, it was unanimously approved that the bid from Concrete Steel Corporation be accepted. W. E. Bartelt City Recorder WEB:srp
