A RESOLUTION SETTING NEW FEES FOR PLANNING/COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING.
THE CITY OF ASHLAND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The City Council recognizes that fees play an important role in the funding of
development review for the Planning Division of the Department of Community
Development and for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department.
The adopted budget for the 2000-2001 budget year includes the assumption that fees shall
be increased to offset the demands on the General Fund.
The City of Ashland resolves as follows:
The fee schedule for the Planning Division of the Department of Community Development and
the fee schedule for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department is adopted as
indicated on Exhibit "A".
The above fees shall increase annually in July of each year, by multiplying the fee by a fraction,
the numerator of which is the CPI Index Figure for the month of March preceding the July in
which the fee is to be increased and the denominator of which is the Base CPI Index Figure. As
used in this section, "Index" refers to the All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), U.S. City Average, CPI
index published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States Department of Labor.
"Base CPI Index Figure" shall refer to the Index number indicated for the month of March, 2000,
and the "CPI Index Figure" for any other month shall refer to the Index number for that month.
This resolution was read by title only in accordance with Ashland Municipal Code {}2.04.090

* Age of street pavement will be calculated based upon the period of time since the street where the
excavation occurs was resurfaced, overlaid, or reconstructed. This will be measured from the fiscal year in
which such work was completed to the fiscal year when a permit is issued for excavation. The City will
maintain these records.
**Fee is based upon a trench width of 18 inches or less. If the trench is more than 18 inches in width, then
the fee will be recalculated based upon a pro-rated square foot basis.
Engineering Fee

(Note: Minimum of 2% of cost of improvements must be paid at time of plan
submittal, and the remaining 3% must be paid before permits are released)
