AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997-98.
RECITALS:
The tentative wage adjustment for four of the City's labor unions is established
near the National CPI-W in the amount of 3.0 percent.

It is important to maintain salary differentials between organized employees and
the supervisory/management staff.
It is the desire of the City to maintain its management and confidential pay plan
at a level commensurate with other jurisdictions when recruiting for these
positions.
THE CITY OF ASHLAND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The salary schedule is hereby modified by 3.0 percent effective July 1,
1997.
SECTION 2. The salary schedule for Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief and Police
Captain shall be adjusted upward by one step.
This resolution was read by title only in accordance with Ashland Municipal Code
§2.04.090 duly PASSED and ADOPTED this ,.~'"-
