Phone Assistance: The Department of Revenue encourages use of its phone message system to answer general questions on how to complete timber tax. returns. The Tax Help representatives in Salem are available during working hours to answer your specific questions. If your question is about a complex timber related issue, timber tax personnel will be available to answer questions. In Person Assistance: We will provide assistance on scheduled days as shown on this flyer or by special appointment. In Salem and La Grande areas, assistance will be given on scheduled days by appointment. Please call the appropriate office for an appointment. Assistance in Eugene, Roseburg, Medford, Coquille, and Klamath Falls areas will be given in a group setting. Timber tax personnel will conduct hourly classes on how to prepare tax forms. All timber tax returns and forms sent to you by the Department of Revenue. Please read the instructions and complete returns as much as possible before you come in. 2. All log reports and payment invoices from the mills. 3. A summary of your timber harvest showing the total net volume and total dollars paid by each mill where logs were sold. 4. A summary of your harvest showing the total net volume by species and grade class is needed if you want to file a standard return. 5. A copy of your written logging contract, if any. 6. A copy of your logging permit. 7. A copy of your last timber tax return, if any. 8. If your land is under the Western Oregon Small Tract Optional Tax program, bring a copy of the certification issued to you by the State Forestry Department. 9.
