You understand, of course, that covering up track to top of rails
hss a tencency to retard drainage, and it is therefore neces=.ar~"
where a road crossing is installed to dig o'~t ~ncer the track
ant replace the pr~?.ent mate:rial, whic;-~ afI'ords ample drainage
so long as the track is uncovered and the w~ter can get away,
with crushed rock. Drain tile is installed i~ediately at the
ends of the ties to carr~ away the w~ter that ~.eeoa into the
crushec rock from the surface of the
Estimate also includes one cattle gu.~]rd to close
up t~ fence on the northcrlj sic. eoi' the crossing, but does
not inclucie any other work with tl'~e e~ception of wing fences
on the c'.~ttle guards,fmrther t~an lb inches fror~ either si[~e
of the rail.
Uill you Kinaly advise if the Cit~ is willing to
assume this expense, $130.007
Yours truly,
