reo Sid DeBoer Home
- It would be nice if Sid DeBoer were taking the high road and accepting
the will of the cormnuni ty for construction standards in the hiotoric
hillside neighborhood. It is unfortunate that DeBoer is instead using
legal and political muscle to push the envelope to get his way.
- It would be d disastrous change in the character of the city if we had
many homes on the scale of the planned DeBoer home in that neighborhood.
This is not hypothetical because Ashland really is attracting people who
can afford to build monolithic mansions.
- In essence, Sid DeBoer is asking the corrununity to make an exception
for him, since no other home of thaL scale will be allowed in that area
in the future. Why should Sid DeBoer be the only one allowed to skirt
the new rules?
- Can the DeBoer's be encouraged to build a mansion worthy of their
place in the community in a suitable location? The DeBoer's could build
a grand home in a suitable location that would stand the test of time as
a monument to their many contributions to this community.
