EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:I have a B.A. in English Literature from
DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana; and a B.A. equivalent in Music from
Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA. I have taken graduate level courses in
Public Administration.
RELATED EXPERIENCE: I was a founder and executive director of a private
non-profit, human services agency in Eureka, CA. This involved research, grant-
writing, staff supervision, and cooperation with employers, funding agencies and
clients.
I have been involved in many groups' by-laws creation and updates.
I am the retiring president of the League of Women Voters, Ashland; and will be
assuming Communication Portfolio of the League of Women Voters, Oregon.

I am treasurer of the Oregon Music Teachers Asso., Rogue Valley District.
I am on the board of Chamber Music Concerts, and on the Artistic, Education,
and Long-Range Planning Committees of CMC.
I was secretary of the Mountain Ranch Property Owners Asso, 2001-03.
I would be willing to have further training if necessary, but I am a voracious
reader and could Probably assimilate most necessary information quite easily.
INTEREST: As an active LWV member, the structure of city government, its
quirks and ramifications have always interested me. I feel that this committee
ie the optimal knowledge of how Ashland does/should/can function,

and lam curious!
AVAILABILITY: I teach piano in the afternoon hours between 2 and 6 pm.
Other than that my schedule is flexible. Evenings are probably most free.
Additional Information: I have lived in Ashland just short of six years, and I
intend to spend the rest of my life here.
I have never served on a city-appointed commission before -- I am more of a
"watcher" -- but I think it's time to become more actively involved in this great
city!
