Thl~ Mayor of Ashland is seeking seven citizens to serve on the newly-
fonned Charter Review Committee who are impartial, non-biased, free of
an~( perceived political gain and have some knowledge or experience in
the~ workings of local government. The nine-member committee (two of
which shall be former elected officials), shall reside in the City of Ash-
land. These volunteer positions will be for the duration of the review of
the! City's charter.
Th~e primary function of the charter review committee is to review the ex-
isting charter to determine if it will adequately serve the community well
into the future. If necessary, the committee is to prepare a draft charter
for the City of Ashland. The proposed charter will ultimately be reviewed
by the City Council for placement on the ballot for the voters of Ashland.
