Contract with the Ashland Parks and Recreation Department
This agreement is between The State of Oregon, acting by and through the State. Board of
Higher Education on behalf of Southern Oregon University, hereinafter "SOU"; and the
Ashland Parks and Recreation Dept., hereinafter "APR", with a contract period .of July 1,
2004 through June 30, 2005, both parties agree as follows with regards to the hiring of
the Youth Educational Residential Coordinator position.
Term
The term of this contract is from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005.

On behalf of APR, SOU shall hire and employ an Administrative Faculty with a working
title of Youth Programs Educational/Residential Coordinator at a salary rate of $24,960
per year. The two parties shall work together to create a mutually acceptable job
description with the included job duties. This shall be a 12-month, full-time one year
temporary contract which begins July 1, 2004. APR agrees to paid 60% of the salary plus
OPE costs associated with this position, and to provide prepayment of all costs as
indicated below.
For fiscal year 2004-05 the estimated cost of 60% of this salary will be $14,976, and 60%
of OPE at $3,744. There will also be an 8% administrative fee of $1,498. The total cost
will be $20,218. The following payments should be sent to Extended Campus Programs:

This contract will be signed by all parties by July 1, 2004.
Contract renewal in future years is contingent upon continued funding from APR and
SOU. Estimated OPE costs beyond fiscal year 2004-05 have not yet been determined.
APR agrees to fund 60% of salary and OPE adjustments in future years if the contract is
renewed.
Upon completion of each fiscal year, SOU will provide to APR a written report
documenting the actual expenses. SOU and APR agree to make a settle up payrnent to
resolve any over or underpayment that occurred as a result of OPE estimation. Such
payment will take place prior to August 1 st of the following fiscal year.
