HomeMy WebLinkAbout1592 Rezoning Property ORDINANCE NO. 1592 An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1361, the zoning ordinance of the ICity of Ashland, to rezone from C-2 or Commercial _ Downtown Distric,t to R-l :B-10 or Residential - Single Family District, for the pu~poses of expansion of the Shakespearean Theatre, certain property adjoining Lithia Park. wm~REAS, the Planning Commission and Common Council have held hearings on the question of rezoning the hereinafter described prop- erty and certain additional property, and wm~REAS, upon hearing by the Common Council, certain portions of the property of that proposed to be rezoned were found to be presently existing business properties and thus, should not be rezoned, and WHE:REAS, the Common Council, after receiving the recommenda- tions of the Planning Commission, deems it to the best interests of the City of Ashland that the hereinafter described property be rezoned, NOW, THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Tha'l: Ordinance No. 1361 be, and the same hereby is, amended to rezon4~ from C-2 or Commercial - Downtown District to R-l:B-IO or Resid~~ntial - Single Family District the following described property 4' to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of East: Main Street with the westerly line of South Pioneer StrE~et in the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon; therlce South 35002 I West along said westerly line 100.0 feet: to the northerly line of an alley 10 feet in width; thel1Lce North 56019 I West along said northerly line of alle!y 30.0 feet to the true point of beginning; thence cont~inue North 56019' West along said alley line extended 150.0 feet, more or less, to the easterly line of a 25 foot. wide walkway known as Chautauqua Walk: thence North- westerly across said walkway to a point on the East line of property described in Volume 367, page 10, of the Jackson County Deed Records, said point being South 210 30' West 85.12 feet from the northeast corner of said -1- --- .~.._._._--.,----,-- I pJroperty and also being the approximate south building line of the Briggs bUilding; thence along the south building line as follows: North 68030' West 75.0 feet; thence South 21030' West 18.0 feet; thence North 68030' WE~st 31.0 feet to the existing easterly line of Winburn Waty (Plaza); thence South 2lo 30' West along said east- erly line l5.0 feet; thence South 68024' East l69.0 fe~et, more or less, to the Northwest corner of the YMCA lot described in Deed Volume 103, page 499, of Jackson CC1unty Deed Records and also being on the southerly li,ne of the aforementioned lO foot wide alley; thence South 560l9' East along said alley line 109.20 feet; thence North 35002' East 10.0 feet to the true point of' beginning.
