Basic Meeting Guidelines
Responsibilities of the Chair during the meeting

Call the meeting to order

Sticks to the agenda
?
Maintain the “order” and atmosphere

Stimulates thinkingsees that all sides are heard

Sees that pro’s, con’s and alternatives are considered
?
See that time limits are met
?
Keeps the discussion on topic
?
Ensure that all committee members understand the actions taken and recourse
?
Summarizes as needed
Responsibilities of Committee members

Contribute ideas

Keep on the subject
?
Be aware of personal agendas and acknowledge if appropriate
?
Aid and contribute to all of the chair’s responsibilities
?
Read material prior to the meeting, be prepared, do your homework
?
Be at the meeting on time
?
Do not engage in an exchange with the audience during a meeting.
?
Raise your hand to speak and wait to be acknowledged by the chair
