Dear Donald:
Congratulations on your recent appointment to the Charter Review Committee and thank you for
volunteering your time to the City of Ashland.
I am the staff liaison to the committee and will attend all the committee meetings, provide assistance,
research, compile packets etc. In addition, the City Attorney will attend the meetings and the City will
provide a minute taker and a consultant to assist you in a variety of ways.
One of the first items of business for the committee will be to determine when and where regular
meetings will be held. Should the committee wish that the meetings be televised, the following slots are
available through RVTV and at the council chambers.
Evenings slots available for a live meeting to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Daytime slots that are NOT available.

Thursday & Friday not available on the 1 or 3 from noon on
Wednesdays not available from 9:a.m. to noon
All daytime meetings are carried on channel 30
Meetings must be held in Council Chambers at 1175 East Main in order to be televised.
Included in this packet are two publications that you may find useful. The first is Guide for Charter
Commissions, published by the National Civic League and the second is the Model Charter for Oregon
Cities, published by the League of Oregon Cities.
