community.

community I served as a member of the Planning Commission and on a variety of

A desire to raise our family in a small, supportive community

From our house we can walk to the University, the Shakespeare Festival, the library,
the mountain trail system, Lithia Park, the hardware store, the high school, the
bookstore, and the movie theatre (with lots of great stuff along the way!). You
couldn't ask for much more in a small town.

I've been an advocate for maintaining Rogue Valley air quality and establishment of a
living wage for city contractors, I contributed in the Siskiyou Boulevard re-design
public forums, I have followed city council business since I moved here and attend
meetings periodically.

I actively participated in the "In My Village" community-building experiment with
several hundred citizens and I hosted numerous public dance celebrations.

What brought you to Ashland?
?
The welcoming sense of community, Ashland's parks and historic preservation, the
bicycle-accessible town size, the valley's natural recreation and scenic beauty, the
mild climate (coming from Wisconsin), and the lively small-town culture of Ashland.
I play drums in several music groups including Samba Like It Hot and the new
Tongue & Groove.

All of the above plus many friends and positive acquaintances, and the civic
involvement of citizens
