Charter Review Committee
Public Forum
The city charter determines the power that citizens give to their elected and appointed
officials and the power they retain for themselves The charter is the city’s constitution. .
At the request of the Ashland city council, a 9-member committee is reviewing the
charter to determine what changes if any should be made---and they want and need input
from Ashland citizens.
Please join committee members on Thursday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rogue River
Room of Stevenson Union on the SOU campus to discuss and give input on the Ashland
City Charter.

The Vision of Downtown Ashland
Public Meeting
Downtown Ashland is the heart of the community and the City of Ashland is eager to
hear from residents how they envision the future of downtown Ashland.
On Wednesday, January 26 at 7:00 in the Old Ashland Armory on Oak Street, the city is
hosting a kick-off event to begin the process shaping the vision of downtown. Mark you
calendars and plan to attend.
A vision is a touchstone against which future projects and decisions can be weighed and
working together we can shape the future of the heart of our community.
