Public Forum for Ashland Citizens
We Need Your Help
The Ashland Charter Review Committee has identified a number of political issues
within the current charter that need to be reviewed. Committee members want to discuss
these issues with you before making any decisions.
?
Ashland’s form of government
?
Election of a city recorder and municipal judge
?
Election of a Parks Commission
?
Necessity of including the City Band in the charter
?
Items in current charter that may be best as ordinances
?
Provisions for annexations by the city
?
Election of council members by position, number of council members, term limits
?
Powers of the Planning Commission
?
Separate Police and Fire Departments
The format at the forum will be a series of round tables. A committee member will be at
each table and introduce one of the issues. Citizens are asked to comment on each issue.
Committee members will consider those comments during future meetings.
Please join with committee members on January 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rogue River
Room of Stevenson Union on the SOU campus. Parking is available in the lot at the
corner of Mountain Avenue and Henry Street.
