RESOLUTION NO. 89- L/'y
A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE TRANSPORTATION UTILITY FEE AS
AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 4.26.030 OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL
CODE.
WHEREAS, the city Council hereby finds and determines that bicycle
paths are an integral and essential part of the
transportation network of the city; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to implement construction and
improvements to the Master Plan of Bikeways as approved by
the city Bicycle Commission.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Ashland as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 4.26.030 of the Ashland l1unicipal
Code, the following Transportation utility Fees are hereby adopted:
Single family units $1. 20 per mo.
Multiple family units .90 per mo.
Retail stores .15 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Wholesale users .09 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Office users .11 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Medical/dental .15 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Service users .15 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Restaurants and bars .42 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Manufacturing users .09 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Warehousing users .05 per mo. per 100 sq. ft.
Hotels and motels .42 per mo. per gwest room
Institutional and other users
not classified above .42 per mo. per required
parking space as specified in
Chapter 18.92
Note: Users within the Downtown Overly District shall he charged on
the same basis as elsewhere within the city. The minimum fee
for any account shall be $1.20 per month.
SECTION 2. One-sixth (1/6) of all fees collected hereunder shall be
set aside for bikeway construction, maintenance and related bikeway
purposes. Any unexpended balance from said bikeway allocation shall
be carried over into subsequent annual budgets for bikeway purposes
only.
SECTION 3.

City Council hereby determines that churches, rest homes,
for the aged shall be exempt from the fees established
that the contribution to street use is insignificant.

SECTION 4. Three (3) copies of this Resolution shall be maintained in
the Office of the City Recorder, and shall be available for public
inspection during business hours.
SECTION 5. The fees adopted pursuant to this resolution shall be
effective with the first utility billing cycle following February 1,
1990.
The foregoing Resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED at a regular
