EVALUATION CRITERIA
CANDIDATE:
DIMENSION STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
Vision
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the current trends
and potential trends which are active within the community and a
demonstrated ability to assist community leadership to place the
community in a position to meet the challenges created by those
trends.
Exoerience
Demonstrated experience in understanding the complex dynamics,
including economic, social and political, which drive a community
and using that understanding to focus those divergent interests into
positive community direction.
Leadership
Presented ideas in a clear and persuasive way; demonstrated that
he/she encourages and builds on the contributions of others;
demonstrated leadership style which is inclusive, collaborative and
action oriented. Demonstrated ability to assert effective control and
organize people and resources effectively. Demonstrated
understanding of the role of City Administrator in relation to Council,
staff and the general public.
Finance
Demonstrated ability to understand and manage the often
conflicting financial pressures of a complex, multi-department
public agency.
Verbal Communication
Utilized active listening skills and demonstrated the ability to "tie"
elements together in an understandable format for the panel.
Stvle
Demonstrated team building and team oriented management style.
The ability to assess the strengths of employees, and community
leaders and to manage in a manner that makes use of and
maximizes those strengths.

Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to change and adapt
to new information and changes.
Demonstrated ability to generate alternatives to fit the situation and
modify their actions or perspectives to achieve consensus.

to the situation.
