Dear Arnold:
Congratulations. The Ashland City Council approved your appointment to the Bicycle
and Pedestrian Commission for a term ending April 30, 2009 at its regular meeting on
May 2, 2006.
The Bicycle & Pedestrian Commission typically meets on the third Thursday of each
month at 5:15 p.m. in the Community Development Department at 51 Winburn Way.
The next meeting will be on July 21. Council liaison is David Chapman (488-0152) and
staffliaison is Derek Severson (Planning Dept: 552-2040). Derek will contact you with
more information shortly.
You will also be receiving a packet of relevant information for new members from the
City Recorder's office, and may receive other information pertinent to this commission
from the staff liaison by separate mail.
We appreciate your willingness to serve our community on this important Commission.

Statement:
This is an annual confirmation by the City Council on the Mayor's appointments for the various
Commissions/Committees whose terms ended April 30, 2006.
There are still openings on the Audit Committee, Historic Commission and Tree Commission.
Background:
The ending term for most Commission/Committee is April 30, 2006. Proper notice was made in
our local newspaper and our own city web site on the vacancies. Seventeen new applications were
received and twenty-eight current members requested reappointment.
Council Options:
Approve or disapprove Mayor's appointments.
Staff Recommendation:

Potential Motions:
Motion to approve annual appointments to the various City Commissions/Committees as
recommended by Mayor Morrison.
