ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum
Mission: To inspire wonder and stimulate creative exploration through fun interactive science
and the arts.
ScienceWorks currently receives less than 3% of the city of Ashland Grant Budget. That is
$16,665 out of $737,000 granted by the City in 2008 (see attached spreadsheet). We are
currently reaching over 50,000 visitors annually. 80% are from outside Ashland and 15% (7,000
visitors) are from beyond 50 miles. We can bring more visitors from further away with additional
funds from the city grant program. Our goal is to reach over 12,000 visitors from 50+ miles away
in 2009 and increase again to 20,000 in 2010. We can do that with additional funds from the City
of Ashland.
