Robbin Pearce stated that the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) may provide the resources to

this with ODF..
The Commission discussed the need to involve as many interested people as possible in the revision to the
Guide. The potential of sending personal invitations was discussed.
Formatting: The discussion focused on a three-ring binder approach so that the recipients of the guide
could easily replace individual pages then the guide is updated and a contact or email list could be
developed which would provide a means to inform guide recipients of upcoming events.
Additions: The pertinent sections of the Site Design and Use Standards should be added. The group
discussed the benefits of having tree related section of the municipal code included in the guide
Tree planting and staking instructions could also be added.
The group discussed adding a category for trees that need afternoon shade because of their vulnerability to
scalding and leaf bum e.x. cercis and Acer griseum.

additional research and information is obtained. The Commission will continue their research in the next
year.
