year.
E. Arbor Week Review - A big thanks to Nancy Kerr and everyone involved.
The Monday ceremony at SOSC was especially well run, well attended and
successful overall. The publicity for free trees was also good. The coloring

ASHLAND TREE COMMISSION
MINUTES
MAY 4,1995
F. Highway 66 Planning - Mark discussed the pedestrian, bicycle, planning and
commercial interest goals and how they might conflict with each other. (Note:
after the meeting Ken Hagen mentioned that the group is polarizing between
"median" and "no median" camps.)
V. New Business:
A. Site Review -
1. PA 95~039 - No comment.
2. PA 95-020 (280 Palm) - Plan looks good. A few suggestions
were offered to guest Michael Doyle.
3. PA 95-042 (Tolman Creek & Siskiyou) - No comment.
4. PA 95-014 (930 Tolman Creek) - Looks good.
5. PA 95-044 (955 B St.) - The plan is preliminary, but questions
raised were: Is adequate screening planned for B Street
neighbors? What is planned for back "yards"? Is landscaping
really 30+%? Commission suggests screening for B Street
neighbors and that applicant supply completed landscape plans
that can be easily reviewed.
B. Goal Setting - Various goals for the Tree Commission's next 1 - 5
years were brought up. Commission will discuss in depth next month:
tree planting projects, compliance assurance methods and ordinance
revisions.
C. Tree Inventory Tutorial - Mark offered to demonstrate tree inventory
software and database. Mark will research a good time/place for demo
and be ready to make an offer next month.
D. After the meeting, Ken Hagen suggested that this is a good time to
approach ODOT about landscaping along North Main for the widening
project. This will be placed on the agenda next month.
VI. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
