V. New Business:
A. Site Review-
1. PA 95-062, 468 Oak St. - Plan looks better now that street
trees are in, but dogwood is still misplaced on southwest wall.
Also, street trees need to be specified.
2. PA 95-068, 364 Liberty St. - Applicant needs to specify
tree species on alley.
3. PA 95-070, 1090 Benson Wy. - Several comments were
made regarding protection for the existing oak.
4. PA 95-074, Mountain Av. Retirement Community - Plan
looks good. We appreciated the sensitivity shown in the
creek/draw area. A few compatibility comments were made.
B. Letter to manager of Safeway - Shelly will write a letter praising
Safeway's effort to keep the Deodar Cedars in the parking lot. (She
will talk to Pete Seda first.)
C. Mark Knox's 20June95 letter to Frank Papen - David Jacquat
looked at the trimmed Western Red Cedars at 267 Meade St. (page 3
top of page). The commission concurred with David's comment that
, the trees, though not diseased, add little to the site and are not really
appropriate street trees. We support their removal if they will be
replaced by suitable street trees as part of an integrated plan.
VI. Meeting adjourned at 9: 1 0 p.m.
