ASHLAND TREE COMMISSION
MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 7, 1995
E. Big Street Tree List - The idea is to encourage trees that will be large
upon maturity where circumstances permit. No update as David Jacquat is
absent.
F. Riparian Area Protection - John McClendon is considering what the Tree
Commission can do to contribute.
G. Trees for Siskiyou Boulevard - Donn Todt sends word that the trees have
arrived. Mark will come up with a letter to gauge interest of abutting
homeowners.
V. New Business:
A. Site Review - Commission concurred with the review comments
written for P.A.'s 95-110,95-119,95-112.
B. Oak Street Neighborhood Group Plan - Kathy Scott and Joan
Blackburn presented a preliminary plan for Oak Street between Hersey
and Nevada. The plan is to beautify and make safe this stretch by
planting trees, perhaps adding median or bump-out planters and
putting the sidewalk through. Ideas were discussed, Tree
Commission offered its support. The group is planning to rework the
plan and will bring it back then.
C. Ashland's plantings in general - Nancy Kerr suggests that
Ashland's plantings could be more park-like, perhaps along the line of
Montecito, California. She will take pictures the next time she visits
and will bring them in.
VI. Meeting adjourned at approximately 9:00 p.m.
