B. Street Tree Inventory - Donn reports that progress has resumed.
C. Tree Ordinance Subcommittee - David Cyphers brought proposed
revisions for inclusion in next month's packet.
D. Brian Almquist and Cable Company Tree Trimming - Doug reports
that Brian Almquist has received only a handful of complaints about cable
company tree butchers. He referred complaints to the cable company,
which he thinks were taken care of. Project is 95% complete. In the
future we need to get this kind of thing written into contracts. Doug will
ask Brian what guidelines were supposed to have been followed. NAA
pruning standards would be nice, says Mike Oxman. Leslie wants to
write a letter (for review at next month's meeting) to Brian expressing our
dissatisfaction with the cable company and requesting that, in the future,
NAA pruning standards be followed. Pete will work with Leslie on
drafting this letter. Chas notes that the trenchers were very careless and
all responsible parties tried to pass the buck. Susan and Leslie will also
write a comment column for the newspaper. Commission authorized
Pete to buy the NAA standards and will reimburse him. Other standards
to consider are ANSI and OSHA.

E. Brian Almquist and Utility Worker Training - Brian would like a letter
from us requesting that city utility workers go through the Tree Line USA
training. There is a video, "Powerful Problems, Growing Solutions"
available also. Chase will write a draft letter for this. Brian seems
supportive and would also like to plant along Lithia Way. Chas will have
to approach the Elks regarding this.
V. New Business
A. Plans for 170 S. Mountain presented by Jonathan Landes -
conceptual approval was given, but it needs more detail on irrigation.
Plan looks well thought-out.
B. Susan Hunt will clarify April meeting date (1st or 8th).
C. Site visit at 2300 Siskiyou Boulevard (XEL Ltd. - PA 92-132) - Chas,
with realtor and Mr. Anderson and pointed out trees that could be saved.
Planning Commission held up plan based on our objections, therefore,
developer will have to resubmit.
D. Bulldozer carelessness along the road to the reservoir - Susan and
Pete will draft a letter suggesting guidelines for Public Works trimming
trees in undeveloped areas.
F. Center for Urban Forestry has a conference in Seattle whereby
commission voted to reimburse Pete Sada for his registration fee
(approximately $150). Pete will get with Nancy to get a check cut.
G. Nancy was asked to make sure our account balance reflects the
$297 credit for the purchase of Tree Inventory software. The amount to
come from the Tree Inventory Grant.
