ASHLAND STREET TREE COMMISSION
MINUTES
DECEMBER 3, 1992
I. Meeting called to order at 7:10p.m.

Approval of Minutes

III. Guests: Jonathan Landes
IV. Old Business:
A. Jonathan Landes got some guidance on the high school gymnasium
problem. He will need to find out (through Planning) if it is a practical
tree-planting site.
8. Don Todt gave a report on the tree inventory status. Gordon Mobley
appears to be doing a conscientious job. Don is happy with the
progress.
C. Dr. Gooding was taken care of by Pete. Dr. Gooding will write a
letter to the owner of the dead tree requesting their attention.
D. Tree Permit Form _ some minor improvements in spacing and
wording were suggested. Nancy will enter new form on the city
computer.
E. Rob Holman - He should attend next month's meeting or resign from
the commission. Leslie will write a firm letter.
F. Review of Ordinances - Pete and Mark will form a subcommittee to
discuss this (with Doug and David Cyphers?) and will meet next week.

DECEMBER 3, 1992
v. New Business:
A. Tree of the Year Flyer - Chas will modify with Nancy to make this fit
the new utility requirements. This will appear in the January 15 bill.
B. Tree City Growth Award - Don T. will check that Nancy is on top of
this.
C. Tree grants are available again - Some ideas (for later):
1. Work with utility
2. Tree planting at Hwy 66/Railroad overpass
3. Watershed planting
D. Find out what plan for Hwy 66 is. Mark will call Bill Molnar.
E. Cypress at Briscoe School is being cut by sidewalk. Mark will talk to
Bill Molnar about this, then Pete will take action.
F. Arbor Week
1. Utility flyer is under control
2. Don Todt will come up with a tree-planting project - maybe in
Garfield Park (across from city offices).
