The oouncil met in special session at 5:00 P. M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Gregg, Hansen, Wenner,
and later Blake. Absent: Ingle. ·
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss changes in the water
ordinance and the printing ot the annual financial statement of the
~ity of Ashland for the year 1934.
G. ll. Green of the Daily Tidings and Leonard Hall of the Southern
Oregon Miner were present and asked to address the council. Both respend-
84 with arguments in favor of their respective papers. After some discuss-
ion, it was suggested by Hansen that the matter be taken up at the next
regular meeting of the council when a ~ll membership would be present
and further discussion was thereupon dropped.
The City Attorney read a proposed ordinance amending the water
ordinance and considerable discussion f'llowed, but ao## action taken,
pending a more thorough stud7 into the probable effect ot these ohanges
on the water revenues and oonsumers rates. Biegle, City Superintendent
also brought up otherl points which were discussed.
On motion, the counoil adJourned to meet at the oal1 of the Mayor.

The council met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Counoilmen Applewhite, Blake, Gregg, Hansen,
Ingle. Wenner. Absent: none.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved as read.
Monthly reports of the Library, Light, Water, Reoorder and street
Departments, and the annual reports of the Park and street Department
were read, aocepted and ordered placed on file.
The hour of eight having arrived, hearing on the vacation prooeed-
ings on the Ira Reeder property at 85 Second street was announced. There
being no one present to protest these prooeedings, the City AttorDey was
instruoted to prepare the ordinance for the vaoation of this property.
The time having arrived tor opening the bids on thB tractors and
equipment, bids from the following firms were read:Killer Traotor and
Equipment Co., Brewer Tractor ahd Equipment Co., and the Howard-Cooper
Corporation. Following the reading of the bids. it was moved by Blake
that the bids be referred to the street and Light Committees far report
baok to the oouncil. Seconded and carried.
The question of pub11shing the annual statement of the City ot
