The oity attorney reported on thetrip to Portland whioh he and the Mayor made to attend the state Highway meeting. The Reoorder read a proposed ordinance providing that oertain real property near corner of Second and Main Streets be vacated. Moved by Applewhite and seconded by Wenner that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be passed to the seoond reading by title only. Carried. Moved by Wenner that the ordinanoe be adopted as read, seoonded by Applewhite. Roll oall was ordered on its adoption, the vote being Ayes 4, Nays O. Thereupon, the Mayor declared City Ordinance No. 942 adopted. L. J. Knox, Certified Public Accountant, Medford, Ore addressed the oouncil on the subject of the annual andit of the city books for 1934. exhibiting the audit of Klamath Falls just oompleted and disoussing several phases of the audit. Plans were made to have him return for further disoussion when desired by the oounoil. On motion, the oouncil adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor. Attest: (Signed) J. Q. Adams, Recorder (Signed) T. S. Wiley. Mayor. March 8, 1935 No.9 The oounoil met in special session at 5:00 P. M. this date. Present: Kayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Gregg, Hansen, Ingle, Wenner. Absent: Counoilman Blake. The Mayor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to dis- ouss the location of the gas tank for the Southern Oregon Gas Co. Hansen reviewed the results of the negotiations to date and a representative of the Oregon Insurance Rating Bureau sopke regarding the effeot on insurance rates, stating that there would be no increase in rates. Mr. York, vice-presadent of the Southern Or~on Gas Co. spoke on the looation, contrseiing the two locations under oonsideration. Hansen stated that the orginal price was set at $800.00, but that the City would be willing to compromise for $650.00. After some disoussion ooncerning the olearing up of the lot, it was agreed to deduot $25.00 further on the price to allow for part of the expehse of cleaning up the lot. Moved by Hansen that the Vity sell the lot for $625.00, reserv- tng a 10 foot strip along "En street to widen the street if and when neoessary. Seconded by Wenner. Roll call was ordered, the vote being. Ayes 6. Nays O. carried.)tMOVed by Wenner that the City Attorney be in- structed to draw up a con ract ot sale, granting a.building.permit, olosing "Bn street tor a period of two days, allow~ng the p~pe line to be plaoed upder the bridge and to assist in improving Water street. Sec~ onded by Hansen. Carried. Councilman Applewhite was exoused at ~his t~me. The City Attorney reported the necessity of releasing an opt10n once held by the City on property at one time chosen as a cite for the u.~.ve~ eran's hospital. Moved by Wenner that the City Attorney prepare a qU1t olaim deed to be signed by the Mayor and City Recorder releasing this Maroh 8, 1935 No.9 olaim on the Wallace property, the prmperty under question. Seoonded by Gregg. Carried. Biegel reported that the oity only had 22 more tier of wood left to distribute to relief oases and that more should be But, pointing out the diffioulty in having it out with county relief tunds.
