The counoil metbin regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Blake, Hansen, Ingle
Wenner. Absent: Counoilman Gregg (Gregg came in latei) ·
Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved as reado
Monthly reports of the Library, Light, Water and street Depart-
ments were read, accepted and ordered placed on file.
A bill for telegrams from the Western Union for $7.99 was read.
Moved by Wenner tha t t he bill be allowed. Seconded by Hansen. Carried.
The annual meeting of the league of Oregon Cities was brought up.
Moved by Applewhite that a delegation of city officials attend this
meeting of the League to be held at Eugene on Maroh 25th and 25th.
Seoonded by Hansen. Carried.
Committee ReRorts:
Water: Biegel. reported that Mrs. Rowley had received insurance
from her house which burned down and had bought another house, but
was still reoeiving free wood from the oity. Wenner suggested that the
City Superintendent interview her regarding this report.
Ingle stated that an inquiry had been made regarding the piping
of lithia water to the new super-servioe station. Moved by Wenner that
the matter be referred to the Water Committee for further investisation
espeoially the Ashland Hotel's claim for permanent water rightso
Seoonded by Applewhite. Carried.
The matter of C. A. Vfuite's request for oity water service was
d1soussed. Moved by Ingle that White either pay for the entire service
cost from our line or else get water from the Bellview Co-operative
Water Association. Seconded by Wenner. Carried.
Moved by Ingle that the City go on record as not favering the
selling of stumpage on the Ashland Creek Water Shed land to Mr. Coggins
or other prospective buyers. Seconded by Wenner. Carried.
Air Port: Applewhmte stated that the Pakk Commission was divided
on mddng a project of transfering the pheasant pens to the Air Port
land, and some disoussion followed, but no action taken.
~ecial: Applewhite mentioned that a government survey was being
made Of al~ cities, including inventories of properties. ete and that
some oities had tried to prevent the government from getting these
faots. Moved by Applewhite that the City A~torney contact Harold Gray.
looal representative at Meford before the survey of Ashland was made.
Seconded by Hansen. Carried.
Biegel stated that the lamp contract expired this month and sug-
gested same be re'erred to the Light Committee. Moved by Ingle that the
matter of awarding contracts for lamps be referred to the Light Com-
mittee with power to act. Seoonded by Hansen. Carried.
Counoilman Gregg entered and took his seat at this point. .
An ordinance regarding oriminal syndioalism was read, but no act10n
tak en.
The City Attorney reported on :Mrs. Ramsey's case." Mo~~ l:!Y Wenner

transaction wi th }la-a. Ramsey and pay tor the ab,stract costing $30.00
for the land involved as required by the HOLO. Seconded by Blake.

Certain parts of the minutes of Feb.19th oonoern1ng b1ds .or
printing were ordered 'expunged from the receo~4s.
A petition regarding vacat~ng of a certa1n part of Iowa street was
read, but no action taken.
On motion, the oounoil adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
